Art, for me, is a deeply personal journey—a way to translate thoughts and emotions into tangible forms. I am a self-taught painter who did not begin painting until August 2014, when I finally gave myself permission to explore a gift and passion I had long overlooked.
My creative process is guided by curiosity, random thoughts, and inspiration drawn from events, visuals, and music. Often, I cannot fully articulate where a piece begins or ends, and that mystery is reflected in the variations across my work. Each painting becomes an invitation: to reflect, to question, and to connect.
In my first year of painting, I created over 100 works and began to see recurring themes—twelve in total—ranging from abstract explorations to nature studies and spiritual drawings. Since then, I have completed more than 200 pieces. In January 2015, I held my first solo exhibition, The Journey, featuring 89 works at York & Taylor on 7th Street NW.
My work continues to evolve, shaped by identity, transformation, and the beauty I find in everyday life.
